It seems like people are always fighting a battle with their metabolism and losing. People need to understand that tricking your body into thinking it needs more calories will bring you great success in your diet plan.
Shedding a few pounds by going on a crash diet is only good for one thing, and is bad for many reasons. You’ll get almost instant gratification using a fasting or starvation diet for a few days. Voila, a couple of pounds are gone. What’s wrong with this? The message you have sent your body is wrong. You’ve told your body to be on guard because food will be limited. Your metabolism will kick in and start burning fewer calories. The body has built-in defense mechanisms and when you starve it, it recognizes the lack of food. You’ll feel lazy, tired, and maybe a little depressed.
To be friends with your metabolism, you must trick it and not let it slip into a state of alarm. The best way to do this is to follow a diet that is fairly rich in nutrients yet low in calories. The diet should not be followed every day like a routine, instead you should throw an unexpected piece of pie in there occasionally. This will help your body remember that it needs to keep on trucking and burn those calories steadily. It’s best to give your body some food several times a day, consuming small meals a few hours apart.
