Soda Pop Maths

This one is for the soda pop addicts like myself. Do you drink a few cans of this full strength sugary beverage each day? I'm talking about the non diet 375 ml cans of soda. Given that each one of these cranks an extra 140 empty calories into you system, this will easily add up to an extra pound of fat per week on your frame.

I know some people that can eat and drink just about whatever they want and their body never bulges out. I don't have this type of body chemistry. The sodas have added some pounds to me and I am ready to fight back. In adding up the calories in cola and multiplying three cans a day, 21 cans a week, it comes out to a whopping 50 pounds of excess garbage my body can live without each year.

I do not like diet soda and it’s “funny” taste, so I’ve opted to try to drink more water from the tap or at least make sure my bottled water has fluoride added to it. All that sugar in the soda has not done our teeth any good, so let's work on our teeth and our excess weight at the same time.

Just remember that every drink does count and if you stick to giving up your soda for several months, you will see a huge difference. I mean that literally! I saw my brother-in-law fight his Pepsi addiction and he won. His prize was a shrinkage of 8 inches in his waist.
